Our final news on 2011 rallies, the dinner dance was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Congratulations to Bob & Lynnette who celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary that weekend. Everything was good - the food, venue, entertainment and company! Not sure where we are going next year but try to join us if you can or miss out on a good weekend.

Doreen & Mike (from East Wessex) and Sue & Derek (Severn Valley) joined 35 SWWG members attending our Christmas Party rally. Although Friday night was bitterly cold, Saturday dawned warmer but, of course, wetter! Following Friday night’s ‘chit chat’ everyone was ready for the party on Saturday and the ladies did us all proud with the excellent buffet they put on. Our entertainer, Jack Daniels (good name, good name - sorry Bruce!) was superb and played well into the night, causing some people to suffer on Sunday morning with sore feet, as well as heads! Thanks to hosts Pam, Nina, Dave and Jeff for a great weekend, the ladies who organised the buffet and everyone else who helped in any way to make the weekend such a success. The Chairman’s raffle was won by a delighted Doreen & Mike who have said they will use their voucher to return to visit us again next year!

Due to a lack of interest amongst the members, the New Year Rally had to be cancelled, although we had very willing hosts who were preparing hard for your entertainment. We are hoping that in 2012 we will not have to cancel rallies because we don’t have hosts and. at the time of writing, I think there are only 3 rallies which require co-hosts so, if you can help, get in touch with Rally Officer, Les.

Don’t forget the Club National is coming to our neck of the woods, United Counties Showground at Carmarthen, this year. Please make yourself available to help out if possible. Many hands make light work, and all that!

You should by now have your 2012 Rally Programme, so choose a rally and come and join us soon. Don’t forget to use the website and the mobile phone to check out the latest situation regarding a rally if you are worried about weather conditions spoiling the chances of it going ahead.
